Sealing MDF
Sealing MDF
Sealing MDF is not 100% necessary for crafting, but LaserworksUK highly recommended that you do so, as this will allow you to get the best possible finish when decorating your crafts. We do recommend that you seal all the mdf surfaces and especially the edges, using a diluted pva glue or primer prior to painting.
You can use most paints and sprays to decorate including Furniture paints, Emulsions and Acrylic sprays and Acrylic paints.
Acrylic paints will give you the best possible finish it is easy to apply and mix colours. A little paint goes a long way.
Make sure you sand between coats with a 240 grit sandpaper or higher.
Application with a foam brush or roller will give you the best finish with outstanding results.

Delivery is via Royal Mail's 24 or 48 hour services. Delivered is normally within 1 to 2 working days. Orders are shipped the same day if you order before 2pm, but at busy times this can take up to 24 hours. Orders placed after the cut off time will be shipped the next working day. If you have purchased a bespoke item? then at busy times your order may get slightly delayed, as these are not off-the-shelf items as they are made to order. Sizes ranging from 25mm/2.5cm high to 100mm/10cm high (The first capital letter determines the height of your word).
You have 10 different font styles to choose from! But in theory, we can make the Names, Words or Signs in any font! providing this is a free downloadable font.
These script names are just perfect for making craft letters and words for all you crafting projects. We have more than 100 different font styles available to chose from in our store.
Sizes ranging from 25mm/2.5cm high to 100mm/10cm high (The first capital letter determines the height of your word/s).
Your word/s must start with a capital letter then lowercase letters or numbers to make up your word/s and this is how they will be sent out.

Your letter height is calculated by the height of your first Capital letter.
These are available in the following sizes:
- Extra Small - 25mm (Letter Height)
- Small - 50mm Height (Letter Height)
- Medium - 75mm Height (Letter Height)
- Large - 100mm Height (Letter Height)

We only use FSC® Certified and CE Marked MDF. This is Manufactured to BS - EN622-5 – E1 Formaldehyde emission.
MDF Cut Edges
MDF Cut Edges
Laser Cutting: The laser cutting process will leave a medium brown finish to the edges of the MDF after the laser cutting process has finished. Any laser processing marks to the top and bottom of the mdf can be removed by using a light grade sandpaper or by simply painting over them.
CNC Cutting: If your item was cut on one of our CNC router machine you will have no burnt edges, the edges will be clean and ready for you decorate.
