Sealing MDF is not 100% necessary for crafting, but LaserworksUK highly recommended that you do so, as this will allow you to get the best possible finish when decorating your crafts. We do recommend that you seal all the mdf surfaces and especially the edges, using a diluted pva glue or primer prior to painting.
You can use most paints and sprays to decorate including Furniture paints, Emulsions and Acrylic sprays and Acrylic paints.
Acrylic paints will give you the best possible finish it is easy to apply and mix colours. A little paint goes a long way.
Make sure you sand between coats with a 240 grit sandpaper or higher.
Application with a foam brush or roller will give you the best finish with outstanding results.

Delivery is via Royal Mail's 24 or 48 hour services. Delivered is normally within 1 to 2 working days. Orders are shipped the same day if you order before 2pm, but at busy times this can take up to 24 hours. Orders placed after the cut off time will be shipped the next working day. Free Standing Ampersand 18mm Thick MDF - Hand made wooden & Sign 15cm - 40cm high.
The perfect Ampersand (&) shape to use for your wedding welcome board with a full range of individual alphabet letters available to order in our store if required.
CNC precision cut from 18mm thick Medite MDF. MDF is the perfect material to use for decoration, it has a smooth finish and can be enhanced using Sprays, Paints, Stains, Inks, Varnish, Oils, Decoupage, etc.
Available to purchase in the following sizes: 15cm, 20cm, 25cm 30cm Approx.
We recommend you seal the mdf before painting using a diluted solution of PVA glue.
They are machine made and are approximately 15cm - 40cm high and 18mm thick, so they should stand on their own although some may need a little assistance with fine sandpaper before decorating them.
These thick wooden large letters are perfect for spelling out full names or just initials if you prefer.
Ideal for decorating and may be used in any room in the house. Great for children's bedrooms, and can be decorated as a Christening or Wedding Sign.

They are cut from 18mm Thick Medite MDF on a CNC Router, this leaves the edges clean and burn free.

Laser Cutting: The laser cutting process will leave a medium brown finish to the edges of the MDF after the laser cutting process has finished. Any laser processing marks to the top and bottom of the mdf can be removed by using a light grade sandpaper or by simply painting over them.
CNC Cutting: If your item was cut on one of our CNC router machine you will have no burnt edges, the edges will be clean and ready for you decorate.
