Wood Type

Made from 3mm thick MDF. The front side of the White Faced MDF is painted white. The back side is a plain light brown mdf colour.

We only use FSC® Certified and CE Marked MDF. This is Manufactured to BS - EN622-5 – E1 Formaldehyde emission.

Measurements are based on the longest dimension either (top/bottom or left/right). Please contact us with any concerns before placing your order.

Sealing MDF

Sealing the painted side of the white mdf is not necessary as this has already been treated and painted. However we do recommended that you seal the backside, as this will keep the mdf stable and stop any warping. We do recommend that you seal the mdf back surface and especially the edges, using a diluted pva glue or primer prior to painting.

You can use most paints and sprays to decorate including Furniture paints, Emulsions and Acrylic sprays and Acrylic paints. We recommend using acrylic paint markers for the edges as this covers really easily.

Acrylic paints will give you the best possible finish it is easy to apply and mix colours. A little paint goes a long way.

Make sure you sand between coats with a 240 grit sandpaper or higher.

Application with a foam brush or roller will give you the best finish with outstanding results.

White Painted MDF Wooden Letters

The front side of these alphabet letters are White Painted MDF, They will be delivered with no visual scorch marks on the front side. The protective tape will be removed by us after the laser cutting has finished. The edges will be a dark brown colour, this is the result of the laser cutting process. The back is a plain mdf colour. If they are being mounted then the edges can be left the dark brown colour this will give it a 2D/3D effect, or they can be painted over if you prefer. (we recommend using acrylic paint markers for this). The back side is a plain MDF colour.

White MDF Face & Cut Edges

Laser Cutting: The top side of the white mdf will be free from scorch marks. The laser cutting process will leave a medium brown finish to the edges of the white MDF after the laser cutting process has finished. Any laser processing marks to the back of the mdf can be removed by using a Scotch-Brite pad, Light grade sandpaper or by simply painting over them.

Delivery is via Royal Mail's Tracked 24 or 48 hour services. Delivered is normally within 1 to 2 working days.
