Sealing MDF
Sealing MDF
Sealing MDF is not 100% necessary for crafting, but LaserworksUK highly recommended that you do so, as this will allow you to get the best possible finish when decorating your crafts. We do recommend that you seal all the mdf surfaces and especially the edges, using a diluted pva glue or primer prior to painting.
You can use most paints and sprays to decorate including Furniture paints, Emulsions and Acrylic sprays and Acrylic paints.
Acrylic paints will give you the best possible finish it is easy to apply and mix colours. A little paint goes a long way.
Make sure you sand between coats with a 240 grit sandpaper or higher.
Application with a foam brush or roller will give you the best finish with outstanding results.

Delivery is via Royal Mail's 24 or 48 hour services. Delivered is normally within 1 to 2 working days. Orders are shipped the same day if you order before 2pm, but at busy times this can take up to 24 hours. Orders placed after the cut off time will be shipped the next working day. If you have purchased a bespoke item? then at busy times your order may get slightly delayed, as these are not off-the-shelf items as they are made to order. A Personalised Christmas Tree MDF Style Baubles - Beautiful decorations to personalise using your children's names inside the hanging Baubles.
IMPORTANT: Please leave your required names "Exactly how you would like to spell them" Please message us your requirements.
Your names must start with a CAPITAL letter and then lowercase text or numbers thereafter. No blank spaces allowed between names.
We will copy and paste your names into our software program and this is how it will appear on your item, "Separate each name with a comma" EG (Daniel, Aaron, Ken, Anna) and be careful when spelling your names, as mistakes can not be rectified once they have been sent to the Laser for cutting.
Size:- 11cm x 8cm (You choose your preferred 4 names) - Cut using 3.2mm MDF.
The ideal name length is up to 7 letters long, any longer than this, and the letters get a little too close for comfort, but we can make them fit for you. If you can shorten long names with nicknames? then your baubles will look a lot better.
Please Note: This listing is for single names only. However, we accept Teachers Names. e.g. " Mrs Jones" "Miss Jones" and "Mr Jones, etc. These are stacked words and 2 lines are required. We also have pre-made Bauble with the names "Best Teacher" "Best Friend" "20223" "Xmas 2023" and "1st Christmas" if required.
Stacked names need more space to fit in your names, so long names may not be available. Please contact us with any concerns before placing your order.
We only use FSC® Certified and CE Marked MDF. This is Manufactured to BS - EN622-5 – E1 Formaldehyde emission.
MDF Cut Edges
MDF Cut Edges
Laser Cutting: The laser cutting process will leave a medium brown finish to the edges of the MDF after the laser cutting process has finished. Any laser processing marks to the top and bottom of the mdf can be removed by using a light grade sandpaper or by simply painting over them.
CNC Cutting: If your item was cut on one of our CNC router machine you will have no burnt edges, the edges will be clean and ready for you decorate.
